Harrow's youth team back for a new season

7th June 2009 15:48

Harrow's youth team back for a new season

Harrow Borough FC will be kicking off the new season with a new Under 18 team playing in the Ryman Youth League.

The team will have a core of players from Acton Ealing Whistlers Youth.

The Whistlers have been in existence for over twenty years and have grown to a club of fourteen sides playing in the Harrow Youth League.

Two years ago they won the Harrow Youth League Premiership and last season won the Surrey Youth League Premiership South.

Peter Proverbs and Darren Toddington will jointly manage the Harrow Borough Youth team.

They have worked together at “The Whistlers” for fifteen years and are looking forward to this new challenge.

The team will be playing their home matches at the clubs Earlsmead Stadium

Harrow Borough will be reaching out into the community to find players from local clubs who have ambitions of playing at the highest level in local football and trials will be held over the weekend’s 27th/28th June and 18th July.

Harrow Borough and Acton Ealing Whistlers will be working closely together in the coming seasons to provide opportunities for young players in the area.

This partnership can only be good for youth football in West London and hopefully it will help to support and strengthen reserve and first team football at Harrow Boro FC.

For further details of the trials please contact Peter Proverbs or Darren Toddington on email youthteam@harrowboro.co.uk
